Storm Damage

Whether you believe it is caused by our changing climate or not, the one thing we can all agree on is the fact that storms are becoming more intense and ferocious with each passing year. This essentially heightens the risk posed to life and limb, and we are finding that more clients are calling us out to help them with the damage these storms can cause. Particularly when it comes to their green spaces. It has become so common, that we decided to develop a 7 step plan that allows us to address every inch of the damage.

Tree Inspection

The most important thing to check after a storm is the integrity of the trees on your property. They pose by far the greatest danger to both life and limb. Our inspection starts by checking for any damaged, broken, or fallen branches. These need to be removed immediately and with the utmost care. Next, we check the actual stability of the tree. This helps us determine if there has been any structural and root damage. Once we are satisfied with everything, we will start to apply the appropriate remedies, whilst the rest of our team moves onto the next step.

The Small Things Matter

Whilst many people become distracted by the damage caused by larger issues, they tend to forget the smaller things. We are talking about the twigs, leaves, and smaller branches that may have been blown everywhere during the storm. Quickly disposing of these eyesores can vastly improve the overall picture without having to expend too much energy. It is what we like to call an easy win. To see what other tricks and tips we have in our arsenal, all one has to do is give us a call today. Our experts are always ready and waiting to handle any disaster mother nature can throw at you.

Focus On The Plants

We can almost guarantee that your plants will take the brunt of the storm. They are not nearly as tough as your trees. This also means that one needs to act quickly and decisively when addressing the damage. First, we need to triage. Any plants which have had both their stems and leaves broken need to come out. There is just no hope for them. Those that only have leaf damage can however still be saved by simply removing damaged leaves. This applies to a wide variety of shrubs and plants. They will eventually recover, and look better than ever.

Puddles

Standing water can be a very bad thing for many reasons. Should it have collected around your home foundation, it can quickly seep into the ground and cause major problems down the line. Once we have taken care of these, it is time to focus on the largest living organism on your property, your lawn. Left wet, it can easily become damaged. Especially with large amounts of pooling water. Fortunately for our clients, we have every base covered when it comes to restoring their gardens after some major storm damage. All you have to do is give us a call and we will handle the rest.
